about

I would like to be kinder to myself and others (does being kind to others make you more kind to yourself? Or must you first be kind to yourself in order to be kind to others?)

I would like to follow up on every single thought I have of "I should reach out to that person."

I would like to more easily brush off the creeping feeling of "why am I even doing this," something I am embarrassed to admit I have felt often lately.

I would like to party more often with even more abandon, to really and truly dissolve into whatever delightful human churn I seek out.

I would like to play a show in Montreal.

I would like to no longer care about the petty details of the unfulfilling lives of my enemies - registering the minutia of their activities, whereabouts, and plans is harmful, plus who cares.

I would like to collaborate on music more often, particularly with someone else who is in the same room.

I would like to show up for more things more often (but only things I actually care about!).

I would like to continue being an invested, supportive, and an unequivocally wonderful partner. I would also like to bring the energy I bring to my relationship to more of my friendships.

I would like to run faster and more often with increasingly more colorful music in my headphones. I would like to be stronger and less winded. I want to sweat all the way through my t-shirt as often as I'm able.

I would like to go to at least two long form outdoor raves. I would also like to make good on my realization that if the party in NYC goes all night, then you don't have to find a place to crash.

I would like to avoid playing any shows that are obvious bummers for whatever reason - I would like to show up eager for interpersonal connection anytime I take up an invitation to make music in public.

I would like to somehow find reliable, effective, and affordable therapy from a trusted provider with an office in my area.

I would like to get many more tattoos, which means that I would also have to work towards a position of body positivity and disposable income.

I would like to listen to LPs way more often, another good indication of disposable income.

I would like to spend like maybe a week in southern California.

I would like to never miss a week of this newsletter project.

I would like to do nothing more often or maybe more accurately I would like to do one thing at a time more often. I live in a constant series of inputs: music on while driving, audiobooks on while cooking, podcasts on while I shower and get dressed. But what about the ponder? I would like to ponder more often.

I would like to be more generous with my time, my attention, and my money.

I would like to be significantly more jacked by the end of the year.

I would like to feel more comfortable in the clothes I already own - this is both an aesthetic concern and a practical one because I want to improve both the look and the physical feel of my outward presentation. I would also like to own more clothes that are distinctly reflective of my personality at its best (colorful, clashing, less gendered, distinctive, kitschy, very rarely plaid).

I would like to attend the 25th annual Tugboat Roundup in Waterford, New York. I would also like to attend the Columbia County Fair (and the destruction derby, of course) and the Dutchess County Fair. I would like to see a monster truck rally and a professional wrestling event, as well.

I would like to say no to things more often however I would also like to say yes to rad things more often. Both of these wishes require cultivating more invitations generally. Similarly, I would like more people to say yes to me more often (while recognizing, too, that saying no is also a kindness).

I would like to continue my pretty good track record of helping to make your wedding feel fun - I take my invitation to your ceremony and party very seriously.

I would like to play my piano far more often. I would also like to learn how to really enjoy playing guitar again, perhaps I need to rip shit in someone's band. I would like to sing every single day.

I would like to spend time in a sauna more often.

I would like to flex on the haters with my unfuckwithable joie de vivre more often.

I would like to somehow figure out a way to make digital, on the phone, or otherwise non-embodied interactions and experiences feel more meaningful - often I leave zoom meetings and phone calls feeling like they didn't actually happen. I feel stuck in a very peak quarantine mindset of cherishing what happens "in real life" to the detriment of less corporeal experiences. But it's all real life, baby! Which should be evident from how often I encounter you readers out and about.

I would like to finally put out the Italian record.

I would like to go swimming in some capacity every single day this summer.

I would like to DJ more often or at least capture and bottle the magnificent, goofy euphoria I have felt in the booth on occasion.

I would like to have someone over for dinner and/or crashing at our house twice a week for the rest of my life.

I would like to make my studio an undeniably beautiful, an incredibly useful, almost hideously colorful, and overall inviting place to hang out.

I would like to earn the attention, consideration, esteem, and regard of more people I admire.

I would like - though my work or just my overall vibe - to encourage others and myself. And I would like to yearn for things more often.
